Coaches

Welcome Coach Scott Talanoa as the next Varsity Head Coach for Los Alamitos HS Griffins Baseball.

Scott “Tally” Talanoa was born in Inglewood, CA and grew up in Lawndale. He attended El Segundo HS, where he was a Varsity letterman for four years in Football, Basketball, and Baseball.

After high school, Scott attended CSUF on a baseball scholarship then, after a coaching change, attended Orange Coast College to finish his general education. While at OCC, he received many honors such as being selected a Junior College 1st-team All American. He then attended CSULB to play for legendary coach Dave Snow (he’s an original Dirtbag!), receiving All-Big West and 1st-team All American honors, as well as received his Masters in both Communications and History.

Scott was drafted in 1991 by the Milwaukee Brewers as their 15th pick and during his 8-year career he was an All-Star in Single, Double, and Triple A. Scott also had the honor of being the Opening Ceremony Flag Bearer and Olympian for the Island Nation of American Samoa in 2000.

Scott began his coaching career at St. John Bosco where he spent 10 years before heading to Glen Wilson High School last year to help rebuild their baseball program.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Scott Talanoa in his new role at Los Alamitos HS!
